National Junior Honor Society is an organization that helps middle school students achieve their dream careers. NJHS was founded in 1928 in a high school in Missouri. Its purpose is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, promote leadership, and encourage responsible citizenship.
Not only does NJHS try to elevate a school's commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship, it is involved with students, LAUSD, middle schools, and the state. NJHS helps middle school students develop the knowledge and skills to become well-rounded student leaders in their school, community and beyond. To get into NJHS you must have a 3.5 GPA or higher in middle school.
During the ending ceremony for NJHS at JB, students who have completed a requested amount of volunteer hours can participate in the ceremony. The JB Ceremony will occur on June 6th at 6:30 P.M. in the auditorium. You can get hours through campus cleanup, helping a teacher, cleaning up a park, and more. During the ceremony, the student must have “Service,”
“Leadership,” “Citizenship,” and “Character.” The principal will attend as well as other teachers or students. People who have completed their hours will be awarded.
If you are interested in seeing the NJHS Ceremony, you can ask Ms. Knapp or message her through Schoology.
